GL, but I wouldn't until it hits 80.

That being said, if we are gearing up for a huge leg down... deflation of all assets. We will have no choice but to go short

I bet announce QE3 tomorrow would cause even more panics.
I think so too. It would just be an announcement with nothing concrete. It'll bring about a whole new round of political drama. And any successive QEs will have diminishing effectiveness.

Re: 08/08/2011 Intraday Watering

S&P really running the show the last few days. Downgrade this, downgrade that.

Gold is so compelling right now. I feel so tempted.... must not chase.. parabolic... rise...

*prays for successive gold margin hikes*

Re: 08/08/2011 Intraday Watering

I think there is more bloodletting by the end of the close, and possibly right down to the wire with the Jackson Hole speech (anyone know what time that would be?). S&P just downgraded the clearing houses. As ZH reported yesterday, the munis are quite possibly next (and soon). The rebound will b...

Re: Weekend Watering Hole

Jackson Hole seems to come at an opportune time for the rebound. I agree the emerging markets will lead in the rebound. The rebound would gives us a fantastic opportunity to short. And when that time comes the emerging markets will also lead the downside as well. :) Any thoughts on gold and silver? ...

Cobra, awesome charts. I'll be spending time learning that TSX LT trading signals chart. Hope you continue to provide more knowledge on the TSX on these boards. I'm sure there's a sizable Canadian audience here.

Re: 08/05/2011 Intraday Watering

If we close today with this sort of momentum, Monday is likely another bloodbath... liquidation selling right now as we saw oil take a sudden tumble just awhile ago.. and now the PMs are selling off intensely. So.. today and Monday are bloodbaths setting up for Jackson Hole? 50% of me thinks QE3 ann...

Even with an announcement of QE3 next tuesday. Retracements are likely a selling opportunity.. end of Aug, SPX ~ 1140, RUT ~ 680 anyone?

Re: 08/04/2011 Intraday Watering

I'd like to think a new high on VIX means we're bottoming. But no chance in that.. momentum down is too strong. Possibly no meaningful rebound until Tuesday (if QE3 is announced).

Re: 08/04/2011 Intraday Watering

I think Cobra's call on sell the rebound would've been right regardless of today's news on Italy. How are things looking for a short term rebound before the Aug 9th FOMC? Seems less and less likely especially if the algos are going to go insane over the headlines.

Re: 08/03/2011 Intraday Watering

Given that the markets function as markets, I guess we're all in the boat that the possible rebound this week and/or next week could be the last kiss goodbye, presenting a pretty good shorting opportunity. But... Jackson Hole Economic Symposium at the end of the month. Could we really be expecting Q...
