The strategy is first to scan strong stocks, then I hand pick those with base and breakout patterns.
In a strong market, the scan for strong stocks should yield around 400+ stocks.
258 candidates today is not an OK number since the market made a decisive new all time high this week which should easily yield near 400 candidates in the past. The 241 last week and 258 this week, to me, says one thing: The rally was not broad based therefore suspicious.
