The strategy is first to scan strong stocks, then I hand pick those with base and breakout patterns.
In a strong market, the scan for strong stocks should yield around 400+ stocks.
177 candidates today is not an OK number since the market is not far away from all time high which should easily yield near 400 candidates in the past. The 230 last week and 177 this week, to me, says one thing: The rally was not broad based therefore suspicious.
