Hi Joe, at the present time, I don't have the experience and resources that other boardies have.
I've tried to contribute to the board within my constraints.
Essentially, the aforementioned video suggested that rising interest rates could be good for stocks, according to the subject matter experts interviewed.
2013 may see a repeat of a bullish scenario in the 1950's.

For quite some time now the stock market and the dollar have been locked in a reverse correlation. When the dollar went up the market went down and so forth. In particular 2009 has seen that correlation play out in dramatic fashion. The stock market had a bottom in November 2008 and then the final bottom of the bear market run down in March 2009.

increased federal funds rate has a single direct effect - it becomes more expensive for banks to borrow money from the Fed, and it may effect both individuals and businesses. When the banks make borrowing more expensive, companies might not borrow as much and will pay higher rates of interest on their loans. Less business spending can slow down the growth of a company, resulting in decreases in profit.

This is what i got an understanding from investopedia
