If it was 'just' Facebook the hot money would be moving into the other internet advertising delivery systems. But that chart of twitter says the hot money knows the wild west days are over.
Last September there was an op ed on a site I don't follow that mostly does Hollywood gossip stuff. It got picked up on my Twitter feed. His contention was that the internet advertising delivery companies were about to face the heavy hand of Washington demanding serious control and tribute thus dramatically changing where their cash flow would be going. We were traveling so I was watching CNBC in the morning one day and there he was getting grilled by the morning show crew who were pretty much telling him he was wrong. That was when I knew for sure it would all come to pass in the fullness of time because if there is one sure thing in the markets it is fade the financial news networks opinions.
Last night on the news I watched a Senator ask the question why shouldn't Facebook have to play by the same rules as the TV station in Beaver Falls? She then went on to say that in the past they had said we are self regulating but that hasn't worked out so well. This is the end of re-selling peoples info without buying a licence from congress the way the medical establishment, the banks and Wall Street all have to. Or as they say elsewhere give us a taste of the action.
Who was it who said the first major holder to get out is a good trader, everyone else is just panicking?
