Newbie question. How to chart SPY:VIX on ThinkorSwim platform?
I must be having a dumb moment..

Under Studies click "Comparison" you can the add the symbol you choose. Be advised that the left and right axis move independently so you may not get the same crossover's as BullBear52. Maybe they can be frozen but hats beyond me. Hope this helps

for ratio charting I think only stockcharts.com is best. the comparison on TOS is not the same. ( I don't use it there)

XIV is inverse VXX which is the market equivalent of VIX.
"The investment seeks to replicate, net of expenses, the inverse of the daily performance of the S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures index. The index was designed to provide investors with exposure to one or more maturities of futures contracts on the VIX, which reflects implied volatility of the S&P 500 Index at various points along the volatility forward curve. The calculation of the VIX is based on prices of put and call options on the S&P 500 Index. The ETNs are linked to the daily inverse return of the index and do not represent an investment in the inverse of the VIX."

Yeah, I'm just not used to seeing it have such a disconnect with the S&P500. XIV is up 8.7% over the past 3 days vs SPY up .68% and I'm wondering if it's a topping signal. I haven't done any real analysis yet, but at least looking back at the first week of December there was a stagnant S&P vs a dropping VIX right as the market turned down. I'm going to have to pull some historical data and see what happened at other times.
