I have a friend who is brilliant but not even he can jump in and read this stuff. He doesn't understand bull, bear, hawkish, dovish, risk on, risk off. Investing is slowly turning into another language.

Hm. Maybe he isn't brilliant. Maybe he isn't motivated to try. Maybe he understands but doesn't want to be bothered explaining it to others.

every occupation got their own language that's how expert comes into play, using the language that no one understand make ones feel superior, Human human.......

Pretzel Logic had a sermon on his Elliot Wave site (PretzelCharts) talking about the risks of overtrading in a boring flat market.
On the other hand (President Truman famously said "can't someone find me a one handed economist") I have seen over the last several weeks that if you don't take the signals that sort of break even you won't be in when the sudden lightning bolt move happens. This is not fun trading, more like grinding it out trading.
