Once again the Average Daily Range calculation earns it's place on the chart. Please note that Fat Tails 'Better Volume"' bars highlighted this morning's fall.
It would be a neat package to blame the Bank of England for this morning but the reality is that the selling got going as soon as London opened and Carney's comments at 5 ish NY time just added a bit more fuel to the fire.
Not a good day for all those funds selling volatility.
With average family income going nowhere while the essentials of food and medical keep going up it seems to be an area where people can cut to make ends meet.
My wife volunteers at a charity thrift store, which happens to be the nicest thrift store in town, only the consignment shops are better. Once again their sales are up substantially from the prior year period. All the big store closings have allowed them to upgrade their fixtures for almost nothing.
