06/03/2017 Weekend Update

Post by Cobra »

The institution buying and selling chart from stocktiming shows more accumulation than distribution this week. The accumulation line (blue) is not very high above the distribution line (red), so the chart still argues that we could just be in a range.

No stock picks for the next week. Here's the new strong stock count which still is not right.

This site tracks Hedge Fund holdings via 13F and other edgar filings
Just type in your symbol (top left) and see who owns what

You will find (according to their methodology) that X whales own the following:
SPY 1558 whales hold this
IWM 1018 whales hold this
QQQ 839 whales hold this

When you drill down to individual stocks you find, for example:
AAPL 2401 whales hold this
MSFT 2321 whales hold this
AMZN 1765 whales hold this
FB 1806 whales hold this
etc

THIS INTERESTING TRIVIA tells me at least two things:
1) Instead of just piling into the QQQ, they are cherry picking who(m) they believe are the winners (eg: 839 whales own QQQ but 2401 own AAPL)
2) It’s going to be one hell of an unwind... whenever that happens….
