Yesterday marked 3 months (70 trading sessions) since the S&P 500 increased by more than 1% in any one day (and it has only fallen by more than 1% in any day three times in the last 10 months). As former fund manager Richard Breslow notes, "It’s been goodly, as opposed to awfully, quiet."

so when we move.. don't be surprised of a huge move.. hold on for dear life…

Do you have what it takes to be a quant?
Want to see how it is done in the farm leagues?
Do well with these guys and maybe you will get called up to the majors.

Kidding aside, these folks (Quantopian) do a seminar every couple of weeks somewhere around the world for conference rooms filled with millennial coders.
Today they put up an easy to follow example of how it works. Their mastery of statistics is great, that's why I follow on twitter. However, never confuse a bull market with brain power

If you follow oil do yourself a favor and go through John Kemp's slide deck on the rebalancing process. He knows what questions to ask.

30 minute with monthly volume profile and monthly pivots
Monthly view of the same thing shows that we are close to July point of control, continuing to consolidate in this area. If things slip the monthly pivot zone is calling.

Here we are again, a little over an hour later with the ES dropping down to just above yesterday's VWAP (2470.0)

Yawn, looking pretty rangey so far. Wonder if we are on hold for jobs report? Of course if it is not decisive the decision makers will be gone for the Hamptons by lunch I assume. Saw an article a couple of years ago about a Long Island motorcycle cop who writes a huge number of speeding tickets on fridays

The daily pattern this week is messing with my brain. Clearly the London close was a signal to test the day's low but all I can think is time for a new high this afternoon. :o

now see if bulls can make double bottom here. I think a little more down at least though.
