What I don't get today is why haven't we touched the mid afternoon yesterday pullback at ES 2640, it looks like a good target. This overnight low we keep bouncing on was a zero volume spike caused by the market selling off on Apple earnings failure.

traders trading pivots… weekly and now at daily pivot.. shorter lines daily… longer lines weekly at daily pivot here 2644.50

I think that this shows how much they can manipulate things.
You were right. However that they took their sweet, sweet time about it shows their power.

They do a "pull up short" (aka Crammer of Seinfeld -funny episode) , then move it up to load in short stops who have given up on the target and when they have a built a big deck -- they slice through it, raking in all that dough-ray-me.

Yes on a quiet low volume day the professional trading desks certainly have free reign to force some action. Of course once we see Jay Powell's statement it will be a market again. Until then I think two choices, either be a two point scalper or sit on your hands.
