Tomorrow is supposed to be all about the FOMC forward guidance. I still think it is smoke and mirrors, letting the crowd focus on rates when the much bigger deal is liquidity and that will not be discussed. It will be talked about at the ECB meeting as Mario is supposed to announce the schedule of scaling back purchases. Of course the critical scale back, which is already underway, is Chinese credit impulse and the media tends to ignore that, but the big trading houses do not.

When Paul Volcker blew up the housing market to kill inflation I saw from the front lines of lending, on a micro scale, how a lack of credit, at any price, was pretty much a mass extinction event for small home builders, land developers and tradespeople. This time they have destroyed savers and encouraged massive mal investment, who knows what additional damage will be done as they unwind.

Yesterday the big move started when Euro time zone traders went home. Waiting for signs of a repeat.

Yes very true.

It as long been a financial rule of thumb that the % amount in equity is 100-your age,
or conversely
The amount in guaranteed investments is your age.

This means a 65 year old would have 65% in guaranteed inveestments
Cash
TBills
bank guaranteed notes (GICs - guaranteed investment certificates
etc

When interest rates were 5% for GICs
you could have
65% at 5%
35% at 12% - equity

When the Fed began its theft for its banking owners and cronies of zero percent, they destroyed the lifetime of savings of those who saved.
If retirees and savers had 65% (of 1M) at 5% then on the last nine years this is
1.05^9 times 650,000 - 650,000 = $358,365 that has been stolen from them.
Good trading to all
