this is just simple market mechanics to tire the bears, everybody and his brother know that when the line in the sand falls, the bears will throw the towel

It had reached max pain for me. It'll probably crash tomorrow now. Gutted by the strength of this rally.

mixed signals to say the least :)
thats why im long bonds instead of going short....
IMHO the bonds dont cut it right now, could get more ugly for longs:

this kind of consolidation means another push up is more likely.

proud owner of a very painful averaged down 80 puts on SPY...

only thing saving me is that i've traded around them each day to either break even, or lessen the death by a thousand cuts.

Well we are just the 1st batch of shorts closing. Unless the market gets what it wants (greek default confirmed) then I suspect they will keep setting bear traps. So even if down tomorrow they'll reverse. Unless of course the all important news comes through.

I think every man and his dog being short on the greek default is maybe a bit too obvious? The news flow at the moment doesn't indicate that they will default just yet. In fact the european leaders are still adamant that they've got it covered and won't allow the default.

Based on that we could carry on grinding higher.

A lot of my technical setups are failing to work. This suggest this isn't a business as usual market and its being driven by other factor at the moment.

I have added a little short, a side dish to go with the appetizer I already put on. Not planning the main course unless SPY gets into the 120s.
I am still using 121.7 - 122.7 as big resistance area. There should be a pull back at some point, but this strength suggests perhaps this resistance area or even Cobra's 123 tinted top is not absurd. The huge short interest out can fuel a lot of upside.

With a bigger and bigger rally today, will we see a MAD tomorrow?
