mind the EURO on the edge of cliff… watch both oil and gold.. the USDollar could launch up like a rocket!

KBE up 0.5%, after a flat open! (Bank weakness has been a recent theme.)

New insight into Chinese debt issues up at Zerohedge. Not overly hyperbolic. Bottom line because it got around government approval property developers have been issuing US dollar denominated 364 day notes, now they have an estimated 15 Billion or so to roll over and the government is saying only existing debt, no new financing forcing them to find local money. Bankruptcies are expected.

Wow, clearly somebody was waiting for that test of the pre-market lows. Impressive 10 point rip. As Cobra has said repeatedly these down markets are not easy. Got to be a grazing prey animal and jump fast then figure out if something serious is happening.

SPY lod was w/in a nickel of the 100day MA, a longerterm moving average that some institutional traders use as a point of reference. 100MA is 268.56 per StockCharts

VIX is holding above 18. RVX and VXN are both midrange for the day.

QQQ is clinging to its lower Bollyband (ca. 170). Unlike SPY it's still well above its 100day MA.
