anyone know any statistics on these phantom bars? What are the chances of it getting there/time frame?
anecdotally, within two days I think. Cobra may know better stats.

And as bad luck would have it, another programmer had to switch servers this weekend -- he's still working through issues that have caused most of the problems people saw this weekend. It is helpful to see the comments here (and a big thanks to Cobra for mentioning the site). I am pitching in today to resolve the errors caused by the server move...
OK, great! Thanks! And glad to know programmer there, so that I can ask you for back doors.

I think we might pass that point on FOMC day.

Hi Agnosia,

I just thought I will let you know that 1 was the lowest rating and 5 the highest in this testimonial. I noticed that you gave all 1's to Cobra when your comments indicated that you meant to give him 5's.
oh crap, really? i will have a look, thanks... i block all javascript on my browser but enabled it for the review site - not sure why that happened. sorry cobra, from my review you can see i meant to give all 5's :)

Short position assembled last week for an intermediate term trade is still on.
My model did give me a buy signal on Friday, but rather than close the short I put on a stop a little above the 8/31 high.
I believe the buy signal is vulnerable to whipsaw given the indexes running into resistance levels, signs of overbought conditions resulting from and stubbornly high VIX.
If I get firmer confirmation this week, I'll take the trade off if it doesn't get stopped out.
The plan for the trade was that the indexes would move to test the August lows after a third push up. Maybe that unfolds, but the buy signal forces consideration of other scenarios.

by the way, now even radio says the market would be bought after euro zone market closed. It's been the whole last week. really hard to believe the dip buyers would do this again today. but if indeed I won't argue.

Pres talking, nobody paying attention, so I’ll post bit of research
READ THIS LATER, NOT TODAY, NOT IMPORTANT TODAY
Report from Al who spent weekend trolling for more short-covering rally info (research suspended now)
Devoured the NY top 100 short interest list
mmmm 11+ of dow 30 have si too high
mmmm even that KRE we chatted about is high on si (last week me: gee, I wonder why that KRE so darn strong. Wake up Al, short covering)
Then cross-referenced si with hi-beta list
Then cross-ref with Biggest Gainers list
Etc till my eyeballs started crossing

SAVE THESE LINKS FOR LATER
The NYSE “Top 100” short list. Please post when you see the new list in a few weeks.
http://www.nyse.com/financials/sitable.html
And a re-post of the NYSE SI report
http://www.nyse.com/press/1315833921149.html
And the si data list in BATS downloadable form. If you are a computer savant (not me), you can whoosh it to excel or your custom-scan programs, and sort em the way you want em (BATS hard data only, no ouija board).

That's one big PBar. Needs to be respected, but it's possible that it may be some residual trade tidying up after Friday's quad witching expiration.
