I think they'll push above the o/n high so perhaps toward the est HOD 56.5

(the est low was 2718 and we had 19.50 so only 1.50 error)

Too wild for me (and once again not ready - but setting the alarm at 6:30am not 7am)
Most likely if you see me post it is SIM. I doubt very much I would post a cash trade as I'd be to focused/tense until long after and then what the post of posting?

Of course the estimates are still valid in that they are made close to opening (thought should be done before opening once I get up early enough). However, they are only estimates and are sometimes wildly off.

I am pleased with the 2718 today though. I had quite some difficulty settling on a number and was toying with 2714 but decided that given the tone (upwards after a push down) that it, 2714, was too far from the open.

Usually I focus on one end (today the low end) and the other is much looser.

For me the key is to get the first end correct - which it was today - meaning the low end - and then have the trade towards the second end.

However, Cobra had "on low to be re-visted" prior to opening forming double low" and that in itself was enough to play today.

usually what I have seen happen on days like this is that it will later push above it (so the call is to close the long trade with the estimate but not CAR.

From here forward is dicey. That is low end (LE) is done as is the high end (HE). So "they" can pretty much do what they want with the work of the day already done.

It hasn't dropped that much form the HE so they might run it to 2762-64 and then..... play around moving it up and down with some down towards the end of the day (2742). (So this is just guessing!!) If this was cash I would close the books for the day...

/ES has a hard time pushing above 750 all night, weak signs.

1) de-risking by selling high betas
2) insiders aren’t buying as much as, say, #3
3) corporations that are heavy buyback-ers are buying (which Nomura is calling the "buyback bid.")
4) double top on the Momentum Portfolio
5) VTV, the Value Portfolio, is being bought
