Weekend reading on the Yield-Curve inversion:

and
https://www.marketwatch.com/story/how-a ... 2018-12-06

“Banks said they would tighten lending standards if the yield curve were to invert.”
[from the most recent Federal Reserve’s quarterly survey of senior loan officers]

This chart is Banks, YTD %
SPX is dashed purple for comparison.
The pink horizontal line is at -20%, which is the standard marker for “bear market”

ON FRIDAY
SPX did a “death cross” (50/200sma cross)
Look back to 2015-2016 for the last cross

12:58 PM 2018-12-09

I worked hard on updating my files. Lots of tooth gum pain, but on the bright side I have the place to myself. Hallejah!

On my weekend databases updates I wanted to have something for the weekend posting.

This last week was minus 192.75 pts h/l. I searched for other weeks with a greater drop. In the database I searched, which doesn't go back all that far, the only greater drop was the week containing the drop to the low of Feb 6, 2018. It was -234.00 pts.

Naturally, when doing weekend updates and seeing how wide weekly ranges are I also think of how I could capture these - once I build my trading account to enough to margin the moves.

In reviewing weeks, the prior week was up, and two weeks ago down. So the low preceeding this weeks' high was the low of two weeks ago (LOW wk 495, 2626.00). I looked for a formula to connect that to this week's high HOW497=2814.00. After much searching I found something. Of course I need to confirm this with correct estimation of the next swing low.

This weeks low, in Thursday RTH, may well not be the swing low - it could easily happen in next week.

On my ETH daily chart from IB, I see a triple top formed after the big plunge to the low of 2603. A couple of weekends back I posted that the price action to me indicated that we would go back to that (2603) level. In between the vicious countertrend rallies by the bull manipulators may have seem to put that in doubt.

However, having done charts for so long, I don't think it was in doubt for me. I have found that the reading is correct but delay by manipulations.

All this is "by-the-by" as I don't (currently) multiday trade. Indeed having a multiday view isn't condusive, in my opinion, to intraday trading. Indeed mulitday views unconsciously impact the clarity of intra calls -- with the exception of when the multi-day swing completes on an intraday.)

In the ETH chart the quasi "triple-top" completed this week in the o/n Monday session.

At this point any reading may well wonder "why is he blabbing so much?"
- It's the weekend and blabbing might clarify my thoughts to me and be of profit.
that's the hope!!

"Hope springs eternal
In madmen and fools,
Little do they see
But they are but tools."
- Robert Neils

notes:
wk 495 fell to low on 23-Nov, LOW=2626.00
then rose in wk 496 2631.50 up to 2764.75
then rose in wk 497 up to 2814.00 the HOW (on Monday in o/n 02:27 AM)
Then fell in wk 497 dn to Thursdays RTH low (Low=2621.25).

wk 497
Thursday
10:29 AM
Week 497=-192.75
