DELAY:
Senators are working on an amendment which would ensure that the maximum unemployment benefit is 100% of someone's salary.
GOP: Unless this bill is fixed, there is a strong incentive for employees to be laid off instead of going to work.

$14 billion to the Agriculture Department’s Commodity Credit Corp, and another $9.5 billion for U.S. farmers hurt by the pandemic.
U.S. airlines are set to receive $25 billion for payroll costs in cash grants that do not need to be paid back.

GM didn’t ask for a bailout due to the feared impression that they can’t exist without repeated bailouts.
But auto and parts makers stand to benefit from other provisions, including a 50% employee retention tax credit, and suspension of the employer share of payroll taxes for two years.
