Institutional buyers or HFT will do ANYTHING to keep at LEAST the line in the sand, 125.90 for the 45% privately held equity sheeple intact...

but it is really a weak sign if they cannot pull it up among the really low volume

but on the other hand, looking at the treasuries, it' surprising the bulls dont give in more territory

so for the new year the world is on hopium for Chinese interest rate "surprises" or QExx..

Wish you all the best and profitable trades for 2012 :)

Hi Cobra, Is the first day of a new year bullish or bearish statistically?

Yep, that's $HXC bumping it's head on resistance after a two day squeeze?

I'm taking home a few spy puts with me over the holiday weekend. I'm gonna use you as a contra-indicator for now. :)

78.6% retracement this afternoon sounds about right. If I am wrong it should restest the high 1269.37 which is a mere 10spx points so not too much damage to my capital.

My indicators are suggesting a gap up Tuesday. But lately, they've been quite unreliable.

The boys dumped 86k contracts /es at the close. Not exactly low volume for the day.

Traders don't seem to want to hold longs over the long weekend. Not particularly inspiring...

If the S&P closes green for the year, it will be by a hair. It looks like a doji on an annual chart. Also not inspiring...

Thank for everything Cobra and all the great posters here.

Happy New Year. I am excited for it because we're gonna make a lot of money if we work hard and play smart. ;)

All the best,
