sounds about right.

i'll be writing some calls and raising cash and buying a small position in some bonds this afternoon.

Bonds are too expensive for my taste.
Call writing is the best strategy, but with vix so low, you don't get much premium. Might as well buy some puts, as they are cheap now (low vix). You could end up throwing this money away, but IMO if you repeat this every month, you should recover on the drop, as vix will spike.

put/call ratio is probably segnaling a top

This is just consolidation for higher it seems; VIX wounded and bleeding hard, no medics in sight.

no budget for fire dept or medics. use a belt and hope it stops.
