Not to get political here. I think as long as there is sanction on Iran, price of oil won't go up very much due to more supply.

Good point. I think it is probably a part of the reason, another one is that US is keeping a fat finger on the price rise to retard inflation.

US oil production has been up since September, See the chart in this site,

It is possible oil stocks go up and down due to the pump and dump, I would be very cautious on oil and Gold, imo.
