I like your charts fehro. Here a long term monthly with log scale - showing resistance up at 1540ish for January and 1550ish for February...

Funds are trading primarily in dark pools - very difficult to know what they are doing in the market...

Likely you meant this as humor--nuance is tricky in posts email and so on. So please understand just using it as a jumping off point for some stuff implied--if (if) the above is taken at face value.

Just noting i have seen in the last 2 weeks the first stories--places like barrons and cnn that support this stuff. Further much note of "smaller invester money" rushing back in because "the really bad crisis stuff is over" this was nyt. Further various posts last two weeks on boards about how the rally is hyper extended and so on. and junk bond yeilds dropping also showed up in the news.

You have to love this stuff. We had some selling last fall because of the "obvious coming massive raise in dividend tax/estate taxes/cap gains/and the complete and utter destruction of aapl--and thus hedge funds--many of whom pretty much got this right for say the last 1.5 years--until of course everyone held too long".

So now we are in jan with "not much selling yet" after an absurd deal on taxes that more or less leaves the whole mess unresolved (eg beware the future lame move beget more lame moves) dudes who were wrong in the 3rd quarter are now positive they are right (well somebody has to be confident right--why not them. (the ceremony of innocence is drowned--the best lack all conviction-while the worst are full of passionate intensity (yeats) .

and slowly it is becoming clear that the usual pattern (if they get it fairly close they try the last high in some form--under over just at--but it's the focal point say 1570) of trying the last major high on a daily or weekly chart is just about the same as trying the last high on a 5 min chart--namely the default norm.

if that is the case (and we are close enough for goverment work) then the usual play of shorting the first try up or down of a major high is the next play.

so can we declare the bear dead?--it sounds sort of harsh for the poor bear. what about "whatever is going on now will continue until it ends" and "because price action is chart structure--when it ends it will look different"? Yes it's longer less conclusive and requires more work. . . but not untrue or assumptive.

signed praying for ugly short thrashing--whacking (the new bull) market to 1590 to 1640 or so prior to "something different happening" maybe due to japan or france becoming an issue later this year (or "things fall apart the center cannot hold--mere anarchy is loosed upon the world" sort stuff).

There have been warnings about Java Trojan. I used the free trial of Malwarebytes. It worked. So then I gladly paid the one time $29.00 ... Not affiliated with them, but their product saved me from lots of stress.

Thanks,

Yes I had seen the warnings. But, ya know, some people feel they can sail through dangerous waters. LOL
