Am I crazy to think I should hold my short position overnight? (Currently sitting +0.02%)

What are the odds tomorrow is a large gap up and run?

What is everyone thinking at this point?

I see any gap up being sold off tomorrow but thats just me and thats IF it gaps up. Holding shorts for sleepovers is always risky though.

Let's say, why tomorrow gap up huge? The unemployment rate drops below 8%? Well, good news, so gap up huge, but wait a minute, doesn't this mean there'll be no QE3?

This little blue cycle shows the quirk of most TA cycles (I'm excepting TA momentum cycles or economic cycles, which are based on real world facts).

My take:

If a market feels like selling off or storming ahead, a cycle date/hour is welcome, because it pools all those willing to buy or sell and gives the move extra strength. Happens often on schedule 9.30 am on Wallstreet. But these kind of cycles do not mean that the cycle has any importance per se, the cycle just offers a handy moment to pool either buy or sell orders and give a move strength.

Nobody (?) would buy the opening at 9.30 am just because it's "a cycle". But if sellers or buyers pool at 9.30 am, the move is often successful... Right Cobra?

My take - cycles per se merit skepticism.

First I want to give major props to Cobra...about two years into my trading education and I never miss the Market Recap. I have learned so much and owe you a lot of thanks.

My feeling is the same...any morning up will be sold off. Today feels like the MM wanted to keep that March monthly bar looking very bullish...so sell it all tomorrow finding support to keep the weekly bar in the green. Just my young inexperienced 2cents.

Keep shorts only if you are convinced the market is going down. But you ask us, and I guess you are not sure about the market direction. So you are playing Roulette. That's fine, but it's more fun in Monte Carlo, with a long-legged blonde next to you and plenty of millions in your pocket.

Some advice: if you trade to make money you should only take positions when you can assess your chances of winning, and they should be higher than 50%. Otherwise it's a losing game, as is Roulette.
