Post by Cobra »

Gap up open, near yesterday's range high, so no idea if this gap will be filled or not. If today goes low again, that'd be the 4th time, bulls better not hope it'd reverse up tomorrow, but on the other hand as it's the 4th time going high, bears better not hope it fades again like the past 3 days. Global ES looks like a breakout if only it could hold above the current line.

gap up on /cl holding from this mornings open. tight consolidation the last three days, looks like it wants to go higher... maybe higher crude will help keep /es in down? i put a trade on. long from last night /cl 107.80 and short /es 1336 ( stop 1336.5) from this morning.

Trend day today? If it is, probably too little too late for bulls as it would mark exhaustion at the high end of a trend. A trend day at the bottom of a trend is very bullish; at a high can be exhaustion. But, a close over 1344 is due, so today could be it. I think bears should back off if the S&P prints 1360. At least move to cash until some selling steps in. This could be another trend like April 2010 which kind of grinded higher on terrible volume and then eventually crashed, but it was painful to be short during it. The difference here is that the VIX is already way low, but ISEE 5 day avg is in bullish territory, so no signs of a top yet from that metric.

Also a key thing I'm watching today is cobra's chart on Nasdaq Total Volume/NYSE Total Volume for a top signal.

Hi guys, my offerings for today. A slightly deeper or a slightly shallower correction across mid-2011, but not before a little higher to 1350 or above.

Cobra, the best signal thus far in the rally was two days before it started with the model giving the close short positions that was very accurate. Does the model also give time to close long positions ? Thanks

As long as bulls could hold above the line then it's bullish.

Hello, good morning Cobra!

I am bullish this morning especially with Russels and Indu leading the market. I expect testing the previous all the time then up up we go! This is with the assumption that we don't fill the gap today.

Looks good for longs, now that Qs is up above my resistance line also.

The Point & Figure NYSE Bullish % changed to X's yesterday. This means we will have an up trend for a few weeks.Maybe a new high coming after some pull back. The NYSI moved up to 685.02 and still has some room to run up to the 725 area. The banking index is now showing improvement. Looks better for bulls then bears. Wait and see.

MY DRV position is flat right now. Not all bears are losing. Keep an eye on REITs and financials to see how they perform. A divergence is bearish. Still expect a close above 1344 on the S&P though, doesn't mean it's really bullish either.
