But, seriously, you HAVE to believe that Bernanke crashed the market deliberately.
He is not stupid.
He MUST have realized that his hints at tapering/ending QE would result in interest rates shooting upwards
resulting in nuclear winter for the now struggling economy.
Anyone want to care to weigh in?
i am a bright guy too and thought the same of Ben....was legging out of the flighttoquality trade by buying back my equity puts and holding TLT....after TIP auction I was not feeling so bright and am now reconsidering if fringe blogs are correct about their negative assessment of Ben's understanding of market reactions......

"It requires, obviously, some luck and some good policy."
Gappy could u offer us some bla bla on how primary dealers ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SELL and JUST MOVING STUFF AROUND
and NO END-USER BUYERS……..………………. etc…
Thx
Disclaimer: I am not an investment advisor. This is just my opinion NOT investment advice.
Another that I posted was this one of the XIV...a break below the 200 ma has lead to a considerable selloff...the problem is that there is not much history to understand future price action...getting close to measured move...but it looks like it may slice through it...

Careful if they embed the oversoldness signal then next Major support area is 1575-1578, which is the 100DMA
ES Update, both ES and SPY are at Extreme Oversold signals on hourly now. Price no reversal yet still. Major support 1575-1578, patience pays well.

Have a good one folks!
My satisfaction always came from beating the market, solving the puzzle. The money was the reward, but it was not the main reason I loved the market (Jess Livermore)
THANKS COBRA...."CLOSE GREEN" MEANS FRIDAY CLOSE SHOULD BE HIGHER THAN TODAY CLOSE OR
FRIDAY OPEN>FRIDAY CLOSE?
Since people are asking: What a back to back Major Distribution Day means (2 days in a row NYSE Down Volume : NYSE Up Volume >= 9). The statistics below shows about 6 out 7 chances in the last 2,000 trading days, SPX would close in green the next day
