Uempel, Paulson owns 5% of GLD, not gold. GLD is $72B and Paulson is long $3B as of end Sept. 2012.

Total value of gold stock is around $8.6 Trillion. Paulson is less than a rounding error.

But the rest of your post is salient. There are certain funds "shooting" at Paulson.

Ah, yes, intraday IWM was the weakest I'd like to see it trade back down below 87.44 then second mouse will sure be fed, a closing in red today makes the bear case more so. gtg.
