typical 3 measured move up, the next pullback would be larger than the tinted area. don't know when the pullback will be though.

been a while since we've had this many negative divergences
spx 60-min, daily RSI both -div. weekly very overbought
spx 60-min, daily MACD both -div.
negative diverge on the NYSE summation index
outside the upper bollinger on 60-min and daily
hard to stay too bullish here unless you're convinced you can be the first one out the door

I don't know your time frame. But for a swing,I won't buy VXX when my daily is in long mode.
Here are the STATs for trading XIV long and short (same as long VXX) .

but if you think you can handle 3% drop you will be fine, I don't see a crash start at the top but at the last buy, so far bulls got lots of room. if I see good buy entry I will, am I bullish? no really.

I am looking just for today, and if we get some ridiculous vix pop maybe ride it overnight. I'm looking to most likely scalp 1.5 to 2% then jump into XIV. Your method is better no doubt.
I don't believe this pullback would drop below the tinted area, but let's see.
