hard to say this bull shall have legs or just vacuum up to test range high. need see more bars. the bottom line today is a range day at the best for bears, bears disappointing again.

last night SKEW closed at 139.87
that means folks are loading up on cheap puts to protect their portfolio gains, thinking a turn is near

Coolbizone went short Netflix for earnings, 500 shares. After he took his loss he tweeted that he had bought 5 ATM August calls as a hedge when he shorted. Sold those this morning. So Loss on short 12 something, gain on hedge 9 something. Cheep puts would be a great hedge for a bunch of pre-earnings longs. Of course you get double hosed if earnings is a snoozer.

Even though it is the “N” in “FANG”, Netflix is only 1.04% of the QQQ (as of 7/17/17), so its effect on the QQQ is slight today

COMPQ 10 points shy of ATH, NDX 31 points short… NDX is the laggard of all the indexes daily wise.. in regards to ATHs
