12/09/2017 Weekend Update

Post by Cobra »

SPY hasn't touched its weekly ema20 for 56 weeks, this is a new record. the previous record was 47 weeks.

It tells me 2 things:
  • Usually after a long time no touch, the very first touch would be bought as people finally can buy at 20 week average price. So bulls should have no worry for now.
  • No one can have no touch of moving average forever, so SPY should owe us a pullback.

Statistics about SPY up 3 weeks in a row. We can see 80% chances higher high ahead the next week, so good chances another all time high the next week at least.

Everybody staring at their screens waiting for BTC futures to start trading in abt 80 minutes :o

Here is one broker indication about the margin requirements. Apparently shorting is considered a risky proposition ;)
Got this notification from Exante:

"EXANTE

Dear ....,

Today at 5 pm Central Time, CBOE Futures Exchange will launch trading bitcoin futures. CBOE will become the first global stock exchange to provide trading cryptocurrency derivatives without any restrictions.

All EXANTE clients will be able to trade contracts right after the launch on the exchange. You will find the new instruments (ticker symbol "XBT") in the «Futures» section.

For short trades, we will require a margin of 200% BTC price, for long positions — 50%. Our commission is 9 dollars per trade all extra.

Also, we temporarily increase the margin for trading the BTC.EXANTE shares: 200% for short selling and 50% for long positions.

If you have any questions, please contact our support line, +356 20150000, or at support@exante.eu."
