Update on Bloomberg’s “Smart Money Index”

IT LOOKS DREADFUL
Recall that this index is calculated by taking the action of the Dow during two time periods: the first 30 minutes and the close. The first 30 minutes represent emotional buying, driven by greed and fear based on good/bad news. “Smart money” waits until the end of the day and then they move big. These heavy hitters have the best possible information available, and they have the edge on all other market participants.

A week of 15 minute bars. Unemployment or cancelled summit doesn't matter the market makes the news and we are back to the most common price in the last 5 days.

This means the Fed was a one day wonder.

some fun with numbers/patterns for hopeful bears down the line. note only a 30 point spread now on the 50 v 200 dma, angle on that 50 needs to turn up for more bull time...have a great weekend!

I think it is Art Hill who says we need to see the average hit +30/-30 to indicate a strong bull/bear thrust, but I see them showing interim tops/bottoms.

I am also hearing that there will be big tariff on car import..which makes sense with his comment couple of days ago to autoworkers that he has a big pleasant surprise for them!
