I think the chart is getting ready for the fifth hit at the overnight low. Thinking of the Einstein quote.

consolidation usually means continuation so in theory breakdown should be more likely. personally, I think breakdown or not, today would be a range day anyway, let's see.

Who is going to take a bold new position 27 hours before the FOMC does nothing but will describe how they are going to get out of the liquidity trap they have put the banking system into. Doubting that the algos will be able to understand what the changes to the statement will mean. Of course there will be a presser after the announcement.
