I think there's a conspiracy to manipulate markets by the government, not by inanimate objects.
You need to be thinking about this differently. The machines have people behind them who have programmed what I shall properly call "theft". And it is theft because if SPY is 135.50 bid and you are the next bid they will change the market where an offer is close to make your order move to another exchange in the whole pipeline and you go to the back. It's the Limit Orders that they thrive on. In nanoseconds they take your place in the queue. And if a sell is hitting they slow it down and hit your bid after they bought. And they need to not let the mkt drop to any degree. And even more so now, with little public, they need to try to hold it up. And that, my dear leatherneck, is manipulation. And I believe the government hides nicely within that activity. If I can figure out that they can do this, I trust that they, and their partners-in-crime at Goldman Sachs can figure it out too!
The SEC thought that specialists and the guys on the phone would never be replaced by computers and that being concerned was not a priority. Then the Dot-Com bubble broke and got their attention.

overall, Global ES, it's consolidation, it cannot have any large pullback here otherwise it'd be a typical 3 push up pattern.

Not lack of care or concern! I probably speak for many who are so disgusted by the truth under the surface that we have to take a moment of silence or perhaps go soil ourselves in the corner as we anticipate what must happen some day to this whole system and what it will mean for or children, for us all. God help us all. I will say that this amateur swing trader keeps his positions very light, had very little faith in anything at this point. The big question is where to put your money if you are fortunate to have some. My belief is that no matter what I do they will figure out how to take it from me. Happy thoughts.
World Bank's Kim just said open to providing help to developed countries if asked, including Greece. Says expertise offered by World Bank could be of help in many countries in the world.
doesn't look like this wants to roll over. reminds me of just about every trading day from january through april. morning dip, never ending bear flag/stairway to heaven 'aka' the no short zone.

Totally agree with you. I just love seeing how SPY adheres to the fibs to the penny. I am only noting a small correction here on the huge rally of the last couple of days.

i hear ya. but i think we got the "correction" for today. the stubborn bull has returned and will not let go until we get some bad news (like from Europe because ISM means nothing, all we care about whether Merkel farts downwind or upwind, right?_

SWalsh and everyone else concerned about this corrupt system.
First I want to say that "they" just showed their hand completely with the Chief Justice of the kangaroo court clearly bought and paid for --- "they" want four more years of Obozo and will not let this market drop before November.
That out of the way (take a deep breath), have you ever read (one should really say "heard" here) The Mahabharata ?
"We got a runaway train boy, we got a billion Eddie Barzoons all jogging into the future. Every one of 'em getting ready to fist-#### God's ex-planet, lick their fingers clean as they reach out toward their pristine, cybernetic keyboards to tote up their f##ing billable hours. And then it hits home!"

I would be extremely extremely happy if SPY can hit $137.33 or $137.75 today.
It would be a no-brainer trade for me and would be a huge bet too for me.
