Been short since last Thursday...took profit within the last hour because I'm too chicken to hold into AAPL earnings.

Lots of resi here from the 34dma and some other lines on my charts. Bulls need to get the spoos > 1340 and hold them there to have any chance or bears get their turn.

Gap filled. Let's see what we do now. Some big guys invested a bunch of cash to jam this up overnight. Likely some took profits at/before open. Let's see if the day traders are risk on or risk off.

Short.
The composite signal I track did end up in sell mode as of the close yesterday.
So, I'll be layering in short with the current rally.
This signal has been whipsawing, however, and could do so again here.
Statistically, this trade has a chance, but I have no sense of feeling about it (bullish or bearish). Could go either way.

Thesis is that a local high is in, and that there will be some kind of trend emerging to test the June low over the next few weeks.
As we have been in a devilish whipsaw market, this thesis has a good chance of failure or at least drawdown before it works.
The market could just be working a big trading range in which case one should be swing trading long now (in which case this trade is doomed).
I have got some profit from an existing short along with stops to manage risk.

This bounce is relieving some oversold condition, which is actually good for the bears.
If we are really getting a turn south here, it would not surprise to see the professionals orchestrate a buy stop run before the next move down.
