Yes, this is what I'm talking about. XIV is clearly rising while SPX is making lower lows and highs.
The only other clear example of that I found in May 2011.
I guess I will keep the swing shorts a bit longer. Initially, I planned to cover at the opening panic selling, but that didn't materialize. No Black Monday this year I guess.

BTW, record VIX contangos coincided with market tops, not surprisingly, and vice versa with backwardation.

FLAG may save her; also QQQ is stronger than SPY/IWM. But turnaround may not happen until VIXies quit partying with DA Bears.
