Selling my UDOW here $57, bot $50...Was going to hold until end of year, as i still think we get another push up...but don't want to have to think about it during holidays...we may get a pullback during Christmas instead of a rally, so I'm takin' my profits...may lose out on some or make some more on a pullback...??

What got you to enter at 50?

My charts said that a low around the 15th...got one on the 16th, then a big push up was very bullish, and my charts also said that if we had a pullback it would be a higher low, not a lower low, so I would have ridden it out if we had filled the gap below...

Also my charts say up into end of year or beginning of January....so was holding for longer term...trade the shorter term...

Eventually this neg d on the MACD is going to play itself out...maybe it trades sideways...but looks like some kind of pullback soon...

now i can get on board with having a small position ARR - although my average price basis is $6, under book value.

i like accumulating ARR on any dips below $6.50.

biggest issues with ARR:
competing with Fed for long dated mortgages
tightening yield spreads
duration risk
short term rate risk
if earnings drop, yields drop, less appealing for the dividend focused investors - dividends have been contracting
dividend payout ratio has been quite high for ARR - some months (quarters) over 100% - unsustainable

good buy and hold for the next 12-18 months - if they can diversify and hedge away some of the tightening spread issues - maintain dividends above 15%, i assume ARR will hug the $7 book value, allowing the investor to collect 15-18% a year. ARR also pays dividends monthly - much more appealing that the quarterly or yearly dividend payment schedule of most companies.
