Nice chart BTW Uempel...I assume the B scenario portends a pullback in Gold before breakout?
No, the other way round: A is weakness in gold, strength in equities, B is some kind of risk-off scare with gold spiking back for a few months and equities correcting.

Gotcha , but looking further back it appears that the Ratio can drop even more...One more leg up in Gold possibly?
One of the reasons I'm short term bearish is momentum 191. Here a short term view, which shows the channel break a few days ago. So far SPX has not shown any reaction. Today's market reminds me of the adage: never short a boring market. And today's market is boring
OK, I can't find any REAL reason for IWM/RUT to be down, would I be wrong to assume that perhaps it is because of the dividend even though it was yesterday?

AGREED I'm out of my calls till tomorrow... feeling like window dressing/ chop time = theta burn...
But that momentum indicator could backtest the channel break and set up Neg. Divergences = new highs.
And this could go on tomorrow as well to get the VIX watchers shorting crowd confused I smell a BIG FAT RAMPJOB RAT
in our near future

GOLD
Here’s inverted-ratio from my corner
Top panel: my space saver: instead of inverting the standard "Dow to Gold Ratio" and inverting the "SPX to Gold Ratio" this is the "Gold To All-Stock Ratio"
waiting for it to signal when gold starts to outperform all-stocks
Second panel: $BPGDM has signaled long (it will bounce with GDX)
Price panel: downtrend still intact

a bit of a late comment, but i moved my stop up to 27.50 awhile ago.
not sure if it's strong or not, right now just very neutral. would've been nice to have sold calls and puts for a no touch option income play.
