think he uses fib time series to indicate potential events. has a pretty high hit rate on it...although direction is always debatable (he never indicates direction...just a potential event).

Jarbo: today it was ellipse magic, I didn't check the Fib Cycles.

L_T: Trick is to find a valid ellipse. Then think ellipse as a channel. We don't know if channel is going to break when price touches boundary. Same applies with ellipses, but breakout/or a reversal can occur on the X-axis and the Y-axis. An ellipse is kind of a two-dimensional channel.

Normally a break to the upside is followed by more upside.

Meh, market my go a higher, but that volume signal on SPX was my signal to hedge in and take profit where I have it, and this intra-day rally gave me that opportunity. I feel much better now. We had a VLV (very low volume day) on Spy a few days ago, followed by a VHV day on SPX. I was feeling we would have a flat open on Monday back on Friday and I would have looked for a nice hourly entry, but this Cypruss thing came out of the blue.. I had hoped we'd get a chance to get in and I feel this move today is the chance to get in short. These volume surges at resistance/support on SPX are usually a dead giveaway.
