5 minute SPY was able to break above the 20MA for the first time since yesterday at 2:15pm. was enough reason to cover my shorts, and go a little bit long. AMZN is also a bit off it's lows, down 3.5% vs. 6% half an hour ago.

OK, buyable bottom is flashing at me now, dip should be bought or lighten up shorties.

remember, given the degree of the slide since yesterday, the very first strong rebound (assume starts here) is just the very first sign of reversal, usually the low will get revisited at least once. So I don't recommend a long here.

i'm worried about this 12pm event that you have on your charts. i wish i had lightened up before-hand.
I'm not sure how precise my drawing was. I rechecked and now I've got a signal at about 12.20 pm, either up or down. Al's chart is quite reliable as an indicator...
Luke…..trust…in….the….force

Dude how much more precise can u get???? Whaddya u want….. the exact second already ???
U R AWESOME uempel
Must see how spy performs at vwap, at the moment she’s just a flag

SPY is flagging up to VWAP.
Just because wussie shorts are covering, does not mean the same thing as a “trendie” signal to go long.
Trend followers need more proof (IMHO it may come soon).
This may help u understand the concept of intraday “Trend Following”:

What's up with the strange tails and sometimes misplaced 5min bars on TOS? They really should fix that.

1,209 on SPX looks to be a Fib confluence area:

38.2% of October rally
61.8% of November sell-off
50% of December rally

If 1,209 pivot breaks 1,168 pivot will likely be tested. i.e. Cobra's evil plan. :o

guess that means you think the LOD was put in already?
Right now may not be the low of the day, but I think there may be some buying in the next 1 to 2 hours. Later today we may see lower levels.
Sold my TNA, took my 61 cents a share profit :)
