Jolts was at the previously expected level, so it has zero news value. It is only the unexpected that can move the market. So when I fill in my weekly calender with the major news releases I click on the the thing and add the expected number. But with the headline reading bots all you have to do is look at one minute charts when the news comes out.

With the markets at all time highs and a world where even a burger joint can fetch a $1.5 billion ($1,500,000,000.00 U$S to be clear) valuation, one could say that all of the great news is already baked into that cake, no? Junior Buffet- ad to your list on oil the mis-leading article in Wall Street Journal citing a new EIA report that prices are going up, buried inside is that it is a long term forecast.

not sure if the time is right… but for a short term gap fill.. you might be good.. GDX… mind the lower open gap tho….on a side note.. GLD held underneath retest of the long long term uptrend… post a chart in a bit..

NYMO has completed another lower high lower low sequence.
So, I have marked the cycle as down as of February 3 with a benchmark of SPX 2050.3.
I will consider the new down cycle confirmed with a NYMO close below the January 30 low.
I am not sure this is a lot of help right now.
Signal to noise ratio on the daily chart seems low at the moment given the mixed signals I am getting in my other models.
Volatility has been high enough to trigger statistically normal trend thresholds even though we have been swinging about in a range.
Event flow dead ahead could break things out either way.
Volume has been dropping off. I'd like the signal better if it was backed up with more vigorous trade.
So, we'll just have to take it as is, weigh other measures and see how things unfold.
I have marked some immediate downside targets but left the upside ones on too for now.
I am flat with some setups in play but staying nimble.
