From a technical viewpoint, there's a gap near the previous bottom.

Because this has been such a dog, would like to see a higher low with MACD and RSI confirming.

Maybe the run-up was just a hiccup, a pause in its continued slide.

Still maintaining VIX short term bottom last Thursday based on PosD on the daily RSI here....

When I look at daily charts of $VIX it finally looks like something of a bottom pattern as long as it doesn't go below 18.30 or so. However TVIX still hasn't made enough of a bottom pattern and hasn't breached the EMA 9 which is what I watch for a turn. Hope things go your way though. If someone forced me to choose long or short volatility I would go long FWIW.

VIX ~19
Here’s how the mkt looked the previous times that VIX was below 20% volatility (pink boxes)

Last night on Fast Money they said that VIX 19 is “below its 20 year average.” I didn’t catch it all.
Does anyone have the number for the 20-year average on VIX?

I think I we may not get much of a correction here before we head higher, so we may not get enough volatility for the VIX to head higher, so I am out until we get to the end of this wave. I think we could be soon headed into a 5th wave, and then after that, I will think about TVIX, it could go lower from here, as I think it was you showed in a previous chart, it is not tightly correlated with the VIX....

I can't post charts from my work computer but on the 5min I can see that bulls have already found a new trendline to defend.

Quick update... was watching the bounce off the drop from the recent high, it has overcome each fib level as you can see at each chart, but, on cue, might have ended right at the 61.8 level.

Leg 2 of the downwards correction is now on its way.
