Mkt does not look to good right now but I think it wants to go up and test the 1395 area to see if can break it.Lets see.

Cobra: Is it possible for you still posting your holdings overnight in your trading signal even with the short term signal? I have always find it hopeful.

this is just bonkers.

There is no real trading taking place right now....the banks have just pushed it higher in a vacuum.

While it is impossible to get a perfect read on HFT/Algo activity, this is what it looks like, to me:

The day started with a drop that was not to be allowed. The HFTs put a steady stream of bids in and then took the mkt higher. A bad number came out and the algo activity, those are HFT that are NOT beholding to the Fed and off-site and do not have the privilege of speed which is what computer trading is all about, were too large to contain. The algos just had a very good day. They sold and covered. They are still monitoring and trading when possible, but today probably ranks as one of their better days and they have quieted down.

So, where are we now? Possibly back to the HFT ruling today. And remember that absent On April 2nd, 2009 when Congress forced FASB to suspend rule 157 in favor of deceitful accounting for the TBTF banksters, they would be liquidated or shells of their former selves and none of this would be taking place. So when they are given money and told to buy, they do so willingly because while you can rent politicians, you can very rarely buy them. THAT is where the corruption lies in the market. TANSTAAFL and they do as commanded. Can we drop significantly in an election year? Absent a Black Swan I prefer to sell heavily the day after, regardless of who wins.

If what you are watching right now is not an event that leaves a bad taste in your mouth then you are not sufficiently schooled in what you have been seeing take place in the Grand Casino that is being boarded-up and has empty seats throughout it. They are destroying the markets with this activity. And they do not care.

Note the phantom bars down in the VIX after hours yesterday and how declining tops line was not violated in this mornings downdraft. Invisible hands at work in front of OPEX?...

This what was once illegal: government intervention by proxy. I've heard a number of former Secret Service Agents call talk shows saying that the recent prostitute activity in Columbia was unthinkable due to the former professionalism. But honesty and honor is no longer their credo. We have developed a culture of government sanctioned crime. You are witnessing it in the part that affects us most. With foolish election results again you'll be playing chess or backgammon online in 4 years, not trading.

I'm adjusting my strategy now, may mostly not hold anything overnight. Not sure, need sometime to do the back test before deciding what to do.
