Gould is amazing, but I feel like he often played too fast, perhaps to demonstrate his extraordinary virtuosity.
My thing about Bach is his notes are strung together with structured mathematical integrity but also with considerable emotional expression.
Some folks who play a bit slower, like Yo Yo, find a place both technically accurate and emotionally evocative.
