By the way, I never truly appreciated Bach until I heard Yo-Yo Ma play Bach's Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major. And that captured me. Also Glenn Gould playing the Goldberg Variations.

Oh Yeah. Good stuff. Yo Yo rings my bell.
Gould is amazing, but I feel like he often played too fast, perhaps to demonstrate his extraordinary virtuosity.
My thing about Bach is his notes are strung together with structured mathematical integrity but also with considerable emotional expression.
Some folks who play a bit slower, like Yo Yo, find a place both technically accurate and emotionally evocative.
