SPY Daily: Lots of hits on this little trendline, for whatever that's worth.
Sidenote: has anybody saved a chart only when it's done saving and in "view" mode your trendline has shifted to right or left? That happened this time, shifted right, when I go back to edit the chart and fix it, save, and it does the same thing. What the...

I think there is something to this being a topping signal. Last time gold had a good run my wife and I were out to dinner w/ my mom and she mentioned the price of gold and how strong it is and asked my thoughts on it. Almost to the day she topped the gold market.
This could be the ultimate "magazine cover" type sell signal. I'm following some slower moving MA's hoping we get a climax run before its done, but thats not to say this isn't a black cloud...Please lemmings just jump in and run this thing up and let me enjoy a move a la CSCO when it ran from 36 to 80 in 3/2000

Seems like a great headline indicator but too much press to work!....the blogs and msm have also been harping too much on "lack of confirmation from Trans", I think the i/t bull market will not end here but looking for time to buy next few days.....
Today would be too soon to be a fruit top because all those millions of tweet followers did not have time to say "meh" by buying fruit AT the top...
here is a longer term weekly chart showing total market to transports, has been cycling 3 months up (buy q sell iwm or buy broad market sell trannie), then 4-5 months down (hold trannies or hold iwm and sell tech or sell total market), then last 2 were only about 2 months up...blue line is qqq to iwm and shows techs tend to hold up better in declines, GL boardies!

here is the daily, hinting at holding iwm and/or trannie, and sellin the rest of the stuff....

There is also a "Mister T" sell-indicator for gold. Seriously.
All else being said, (Kardash indicator, Shoeshine Bwoy, etc..), if you look at all of the
long-term weekly moving averages, they are mostly bullish. (as I've said before 10 week crossing
the 20 week, etc.)
I have software that searches over all possible models that use weekly MA crosses (and a restriction
on frequent trading a la mutual funds, 401k's etc) and backtesting and under my constraints, the best (using
simulated annealing to max'ize the parameters) and just about all of the important indices are starting to flash
buy signals during the last few weeks.
The caveat, of course, is that my model ignores volume, summer seasonality and the fact that we are reaching multi-year highs.

speaking of sell signals
more FB shares will be unlocked …
“…..Insiders are seen selling about 55 percent of the 1.2 billion shares that are set to come unlocked on Nov. 14…”
Old news; same signal……

I consider target met, because it's not easy to measure, you can always measure a smaller triangle.
