no. most likely a strong downtrend day today, statistically.

Cobra,
Do you really want the mkt to go up or you're just playing devil's advocate?
NORMALLY, there's at least one more attempt to make a new high. I mean NORMALLY, doesn't have to be today though.

very good. breakout after a little consolidation is always good, making the breakout more trustworthy. tinted area as text book target. we'll see.

hahaha, jittery is never a good sign. remain calm, set your stop loss at 1166 and you'll be fine. small loss compare to big gain if we do head down south to 1135 area. :)

That's 3:1 risk/reward ratio by the way.

Maybe this is just a buy-the-dip day. Da futures & overseas bears will be out Monday while we're off; by Tuesday's open, we get a gap up and run up all day.

Gee, I hope not. Image

now you see how fast things are for any day trader to post all his trades  today LOD or lower area will really paint a better picture to what to come Monday. Arc support did it's job so far but that will not change anything until new HOD is taken out.

Uempel -- thats a great correlative chart -- thanks.

based on how you put the chart together, does the price of copper suggest it had "outperformed" equities from 2009? Or put another way, does the correction in 2011 suggest that copper was out of whack relative to equity prices -- to much $ was chasing copper? that would explain all the inflation fears. . .
to me, this suggests there was more of a price correction in commodities, ie copper, and inflation, then a correction in equities. (a "healthy" balance is rising commodities, but not too much at the expense of corporate earnings).

or thats not how you put together the chart?

very very interesting chart. thanks for putting it together and putting up on the board. if you have any comments, please let me know.
