JOY is on my watch list too, but it runs on its own, independently of the general market. It seems to run with CAT.

Yes, this is what I'm talking about. XIV is clearly rising while SPX is making lower lows and highs.

The only other clear example of that I found in May 2011.

I guess I will keep the swing shorts a bit longer. Initially, I planned to cover at the opening panic selling, but that didn't materialize. No Black Monday this year I guess.

As you know Boss, divergences are tough to play. Also historically CCI 168 tends to be later than EMA cross.

I understand that about VIX. But why that makes XIV divergent to VIX and SPX?
