SPY has clear 5 waves up from 128.88 and has now retraced 50% of that move, so far. Making a new high would suggest a wave 3 up is starting....very bullish short term.Cobra wrote:well, right after I said "disappointed". what's going on?

Cobra, it's interesting that you develop app's. In a previous life I was a computer programmer/analyst.
The mainframe days...17+ years.
I have an idea for an app, if you're interested, please email me. It's related to finance / social gaming.
i might be able to help a bit if laoda decided to do one in da future

I use a combination of a forward moving average and cycles to determine when the trend changes. I'm bullish on oil short-term but the trade is just not moving yet. I'm giving it a few more days.wisertime wrote:"The short term trend is now confirmed up"
cletus, what kind of indicator led you to believe the short term trend will be up? and by the way, nice call on oil last week, props to you.
personally i use a short-term trend indicator that needs a higher low and higher high than previous bar. We have the higher low but not a higher high so the short-term trend is still down.cletus wrote:I use a combination of a forward moving average and cycles to determine when the trend changes. This will get you into a trade too late, in my opinion, but it's not a bad approach.StrikePrice wrote:personally i use a short-term trend indicator that needs a higher low and higher high than previous bar. What kind of fancy indicators that you used to make such a beautiful ribbon chart, the one in the middle?BullBear52x wrote:Just bored, look at where we are short term.

We should rally into the close but have a weak open tomorrow, however, buy dips.
