Gap up, within yesterday's range so the gap might be filled.
Global ES could be in a down slope channel. Let's wait and see. No matter ES or SPX or SPY, I've mentioned where the key is today in the last night's market outlook so you all should know what to watch, so let's dig in...

DAX, again, I don't like it simply consolidates above the neckline, the break down once occur, it'll be as real as it gets.

Facebook update
[CNBC
and Bloomberg this morn] The IPO price will be raised from $34 to $38.
IF that is true = oversubscribed and bullish.
From other sources: Stumbling blocks for investors were: mobile, eps, and advertising.
Here’s what FB may be doing with ads:
Unlike the "interruption" ads we are familiar with, facebook’s ad strategy is referred to as “Native Monetization” that “seamlessly integrates
promoted content from brand advertisers into the fabric of a site itself.”
“The next generation of internet elite are bypassing the display ad slog altogether and creating ad products that enable brands to engage
natively with their audiences…”

“…One in eight of the whole human race” are on facebook

IMHO: Since many Boyz played the “down on close” yesterday…they have to go: reverse => UP to enter the long trade (short term)…and this is what you see right now.
GLTA!

Here is other info on FB.
Half of Americans think Facebook is a passing fad, according to the results of a new Associated Press-CNBC poll.
Conversely, it's the rare senior citizen on Facebook: Just 21 percent have an account. Half of baby boomers — the generation born in the years after World War II — have one. But most of the 56 percent of the country that's on Facebook is young — two-thirds of Gen X'ers and a staggering 81 percent of people 18-35 use the social networking site.

I have logged into to FB about half a dozen times just to learn about it. Seems Big Brothery to me, and users are not well compensated for giving up their privacy.
My wife was into it for awhile but has found she just doesn't have the time.
One of my kids dropped it because it kept getting him into trouble.
My other kid is all in and part of the borg...
Based on this very limited survey, I am guessing that FB is IPOing just as their userbase is plateauing.

I agree with you about FB. I have done a bit of research and found that a LOT of people that used FB for ads, got little if any return for there buck. The young gen just doesn't spend much money on the web, they like the face to face in stores...

Short.
Market is oversold and poised for a bounce into opex, which could stop me out.
Sometimes oversold markets get more oversold though.
Important technical lines have been crossed opening up prospects for getting down to the highs of late last year perhaps after a corrective rally.
I saw a blurb yesterday which said that the prior year close has been revisited every year for the last 33. I don't know if this is true.
I'll be watching the Dow in the days ahead for bottom signs. Would like to see a low, a bounce and then another low (either higher or lower).

I posted the comment about the Dow has revisited it's open every year for 33. Steve Grasso retweeted that comment but I don't know it's validity.

Pretty interesting stat given that there were some huge bull markets in those 33 years.
