I think the market is up because it's pricing in a Romney victory.
This one's for Xian: Electoral College Prediction Model Points To A Mitt Romney Win In 2012 Image
Darn, he's not online
Thanks Pet and (Xian...)
not market-related....I am nondenominational here and not talkin abpout my position....:i was wondering about the game theory behind da mitt promise to fire him....wondering if mitt was talkin his (big portfolio) position OR if Mitt implying he does not expect to win....seems history would suggest that at these same economic levels , and without a big equity crash, incumbant is the more likely victor??
so, did mitt say to ben: if market crashes then "YOU'RE FIRED!!"?

yeah I know what industry employees are buying red state victory blah blah...
GLTA and thanks for great day here!

Cobra,
As you said this morning this market is DEAD! The manipulation is now carried on with "in-your-face" attitude, if you think that they opened today SPY at $141.52 and managed to close it few minutes ago at $141.51.
Do you think that it is an accidental coincidence?
Thanks for the work you do even in boring days like today!

Click on your link. Highlight the title of the article. Right-click and select search with google. The same article without the tease to subscribe should be the first in the list.

It was me who mentioned that a few days ago. Copy the article headline to clipboard. Go to news.google.com. In the news search window paste or type the article headlilne and click the search button, it should come right up as a clickable article that you can fully read. I believe Google has arrangements with NYT, WSJ, etc. for this. You have to click the search button, it doesn't normally come up in the autofill search.

Darnit I see someone got to it before me lol, thanks Apple. Hey, this is the first time the "you may wish to review your posts in light of new posts" thingie did me any good.

That being said, why am I even trying to trade this week? This has been an utter and complete waste of 3 days.

Petsamo and Tradegirl, thanks for the responses. I went long with a Sept 80/95/110 butterfly spread. Hard to imagine someone at the WSJ figured out cash balance issues on BPT, its possible but its not like this is a dry hole. If there are accounting issues further down, if not then rebound back to 100 in short order. Not much at risk, we'll see.

Turd of a market I tell you :x Sorry about the flowery language that has become the bane of Daneric's site. Here is a potential count (I just can't count the last three days of chop). Of course, someone from Europe has to open their mouth and say QE or similar. Looking for 1418 max before we go down. At least 1416 to finish C.

Of course, it could tank right here and go negative

We could have even been done with the correction without knowing it as the 2 stretched quite a bit. If so, 4 will be small in time and size.
