07/03/2021 Weekend Update

Up 2 weeks in a row, the next week has 75% chances to make a higher high so more up ahead, bulls should be fine holding positions over the weekend.

From Spot Gamma this AM on twitter
"Large traders bought Index calls this week - the last time this type of flow showed was after the Dec & March quarterly expirations."

Not sure what the strategy is but it sounds like more games around quarter end window dressing fund movement (obviously). Will be looking for details and a home gamer path if it is easy money four times a year.

From"It is what it is department' Trending or Trapping? I say Trapping. same thinking from a week ago, buy is bad idea, sell with tight stop is good idea for short term. Negative divergence continues and about to cross bearish again. walk carefully. Peace!

Not trying to be morbid or anything, just trying to think like a trader. If either of these very high profile space launches goes fireball how badly will space funds get hit. Just thinking with the lop sided call buying puts may be reasonable, as in buy the underlying, sell an out of the money call against it and use the premium to pick up a cheep put as insurance. Anyway, good topic for discussion around the old BBQ on Monday.

"The SPX, Dow, and NASDQ all closed at all-time highs on Friday. Just 10 days ago the Dow closed at a 50-day low. That quick of a move from low to high is quite an accomplishment. Over the last 101 years this just the 21st time the Dow has managed to move from a 50-day closing low to a 50-day closing high within 10 days

"The Dow has generally seen the upward momentum continue. Those are some impressive gains over the first 1-5 days, and even out through 20 days. Traders may want to keep this in mind when formulating their bias.

Given the data I just posted, glance at the SPX chart which over the past two days printed shaved candles (little or no shadows) which is bullish.
On the top panel, note INVERTED equity-options traders (3ma) are still in the green, but with a negative divergence… so it may be just a matter of time before they go red…
On the bottom panel, volume NYUD (black) has confirmed the higher SPX highs until now. Note that when it dipped in Feb/March it recovered quickly (green and red boxes). Now it hasn’t yet recovered from the June dip, and that’s a problem.
The NYAD (lime) recovered nicely with a higher high, and that’s what most folks watch …. soooo ….
Things need to change here, and it may all be resolved as early as next week.
