THE NET EFFECT OF LOWER OIL PRICES:
In the U.S. lower oil prices have a net-positive effect, but are negative for employment in eight states where energy-related employment is strong.
Material job losses in the oil and gas sector provide a drag on the economy.
Low oil prices are a boost to the broader economy – via greater consumer disposable income, decreasing energy costs for firms, etc.

Map shows the “wealth transfer” out of oil producer/exporter countries into the oil consumer/importer countries
(e.g.: a loss of $357 billion by the Middle East this year…and a $393 billion gain by Asia)

Weakest momentum (STO-9) is IWM at 18 (oversold)
Strongest is still XIV (contango), and the newest strong man is USO at 84 (overbought)
